Who is responsible

Villa Ndoto, Msitu Kwetu, Diani Beach, Kenya, operates this website and is responsible for the information described here. You can reach us at villandoto252@gmail.com with any question about this policy or about information we hold.

Cookies and tracking

We use none. This site sets no cookies, uses no local storage, and carries no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts of any kind. The only way a cookie can reach you through our pages is the Google map described below, and it stays switched off until you open it. That is why there is no cookie banner: nothing that would need one runs unless you ask for it.

The enquiry form

When you press Send enquiry, what you typed is sent to Formspree, the service we use to get enquiries into our inbox. Formspree emails it to us and keeps a copy in our account with them. Formspree is run by Formspree, Inc. in the United States, so your enquiry is processed there; their privacy policy is at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy. Nothing is sent before you press the button, and the form sets no cookies.

We receive and keep what the message contains: your name, your email address, the dates and party size you gave, and anything you wrote. We use it to answer you and to arrange your stay, and for nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it or pass it to anyone for marketing.

We keep enquiries for as long as they are useful for that purpose, and delete them when they are not. Ask us and we will delete yours sooner. If you would rather not use the form, write to villandoto252@gmail.com instead.

Typefaces

The two typefaces on these pages are served from our own website, not from a font service, so loading a page sends nothing about you to Google or anyone else. The map below is the only part of the site that can contact Google, and only if you ask for it.

The map, if you open it

The home page shows where we are on a map from Google Maps. The map is not loaded with the page: until you press Show the map, your browser makes no request to Google Maps at all.

If you press it, the map is fetched from Google's servers. Your IP address and basic browser information then reach Google, and Google may set cookies and use that information under its own privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy. If you would rather not, the written address and the Open in Google Maps link give the same information without loading anything into our page.

Hosting and server records

Like any website, this one is served by a hosting provider that keeps short-lived technical records of requests, which normally include the visiting IP address, the time, the page requested and the browser used. These exist to keep the site running and secure. We do not use them to identify visitors and we do not combine them with anything else.

Links to other people's sites

We link out to Instagram, to our reviews on Google, and to independent activity operators such as Pilli Pipa. Those are ordinary links: nothing from those sites is embedded in our pages or loaded from them. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy, not ours.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our holding it. Email villandoto252@gmail.com and we will respond.

We handle personal information in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR also gives you these rights, and you may complain to your national supervisory authority if you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top of it.
